Pay pal allows individuals to accept credit card payments, however there are risks and the credit card holder could do a charge back and you could be in debt to pay pal for the money. Read the user agreements completely before you agree to this. For private sales, nothing is as good as cash for the seller.

Contact e-bay and tell them what happened, from now on don't answer anything from e-bay on your e-mail account, they will get your e-mail address and your password and you could be charged for all types of things.
Go to Ebay help immediately and contact them - they have a fraud link - it happened to me and they rectified it...
No but it sounds like you got a scam email and freaked out...before you realized it was scam.....I have gotton those, and they are so real looking...I spoof to ebay....about it....always it is a scam....The scumbag slime that do that make it very real.......and it is scary.....it probably is just a scam.....

I always end my items on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings ending at or after 7:30 pacific time.... People are out friday and saturday evenings so you could miss customers..... Also end them in the evening, not everybody has a computer at work. You could potentialy lose a buyer if he/she is in the rush hour traffic when your auction ends......... This info is for consumer items and small commercial items......... Industrial auction items like payloaders, bulk voulumes of commercial items and rack shelving can be ended in the day as most businesses that would buy these items have a computer in the office........ I always have a phone # listed in my auctions.... Good communications has always made me more money on and off ebay deals and prevents misunderstandings....In your own opinion,when would be the best time of day and week to list an item for sale on eBay???

ok well the other guy that answered is weird. I usually put my things on ebay at 10pm-11pm on saturday nights and set a week auction. The reason for these times, which are eastern time is because no matter where you are in the country you will be awake and available for bidding, as even if you work on saturday you should be home for 7 on west coast usually and most likely home on east coast at 10. What you could do is search it on Amazon and see if another seller is selling the item. If another seller is selling the item, there should be a button that says ';Have one to sell'; click on that and you should be in business. If you cannot find any listing for the item that you want to sell, then you are out of luck. Your other option if you can't list it on Amazon, list it on eBay.

There is a way to set insurance amount. I only use Turbo these days, but it has a way to do so. Here's a thought on that. In a delivery dispute, USPS always holds the seller responsible for undelivered goods anyway. Few eBay sellers seem to know this. That means you are actually responsible for insuring shipments whether you charge or not.
I usually just say in my description that the shipment is insured free. It only costs an extra 1.60 or so and it's worth it to me for it's promotional value. If the item is very inexpensive or you have many of them, you can easily self-insure. If you ship UPS, your shipment is automatically insured anyway.

Normally you could add things like ';insurance optional'; in the item description.
Normally I wouldn't worry about stating that it's optional. If someone wants the item insured then they will usually ask for it. With items of little value, there isn't much reason for using insurance to begin with.Listed an item for sale on Ebay?
There is a way to set insurance amount. I only use Turbo these days, but it has a way to do so. Here's a thought on that. In a delivery dispute, USPS always holds the seller responsible for undelivered goods anyway. Few eBay sellers seem to know this. That means you are actually responsible for insuring shipments whether you charge or not.
I usually just say in my description that the shipment is insured free. It only costs an extra 1.60 or so and it's worth it to me for it's promotional value. If the item is very inexpensive or you have many of them, you can easily self-insure. If you ship UPS, your shipment is automatically insured anyway.

OH AND ... if it is a one of a kind item, that means they didn't want to drive the bid up just yet, they want a good deal on the item. If there are a few of them listed, they probably are bidding on another one that ends sooner than yours, they might bid if they lose other auctions.

Why on earth are you scanning a photo taken with a dig cam, use the programmes that came with your camera to upload, you will need to ensure the file size is snmall enough to be uploaded, EBay want pics 400 x 400 pixels in size. you simply save the pic to a file, then when listing your item in Ebay, browse to locate it and upload from there by clicking on the image, its really very easy, I learned myself so if I can do it, anyone can!
If this friend knows anything about computers then he/she should eb able to show you how to transfer the pic from the camera and sort it all out

How do I take an item for sale off of amazon?
Under your Seller Account go to List Current Inventory.
Once the Inventory is loaded you will see all your items with a check box next to them.
Click the check box of the item you want to remove.
Look at the top of the list and you will see a drop down menu that says ';Close Listings';.
Next to that there is a button that says ';Go!';.
Click that and you should be set :)

Paypal can freeze your account whenever they want and not allow you to withdraw your own money, or pay for other items you may have won...which itself can get you suspended ffrom ebay.

I use to have Paypal but I made a mistake with my bank account and the payment bounced. So Paypal converted the balance to dollars one day and then to sterling to next. This kept putting the amount I owed up and up. I paid it off, emailed them to shove the account where the light doesn't shine and I make sure in my listings that I don't take Paypal because of the RIP OFF FEES. If the buyer can't be bothered to send a cheque or postal order then they ain't genuine.

They then damage the goods on purpose and report me to paypal stating blatant lies about my goods (handbags). Paypal always find in favour of the liar - I mean buyer!. It makes my blood boil. I also always obtain a certificate of postage but did you know that doesn't count for anything - proof of sending is not proof of receipt. You HAVE to have a tracking number so again, any complaints will be found in favour of the buyer. Paypal can freeze the funds for the complaint but not your entire account. Luckily most of my customers are very happy with their purchasers and are honest people but there are some scammers out there.

Try yahoo! auctions which you can get to from the main yahoo! page, ebay at www.ebay.com, or do a google search for ';online auctions';. You'll have to sign up for an account, and then follow the directions to list your item. People are cheap. My daughter had about 12 Aeropostale, A%26amp;F, and similar shirts at her sale (she's 13). She had like $1 each. These were very gently worn, and 2 still had the tags on them. Only 2 or 3 sold, and two ladies tried to jew her down to $.50 each.
You might get $10 out of them if you're lucky, or just happen to find the right buyer.

Can you block someone from buying your items for sale on Amazon?
I just received very bad feedback from a buyer who claimed she never received the item I sold her. I have a delivery confirmation receipt and the USPS website says it was delivered to her 2 days after she ordered it. Amazon will not remove her feedback even though I have proof that she is lying. They will only remove feedback if it is obscene, is a product review, or if it includes personally identifiable information. So, I responded to the feedback with the fact that she DID receive the item, but I want to block her from ever buying from me again. Is there a way to do this? I assumed that since the photograph was intended solely for representing the item for sale and not for artistic purposes, I could go ahead and download it and paint my picture based on the images and composition of the lamps in the photo. However, since I want to sell the painting, I wanted to be sure this is actually ok and that I am not infringing on any copyright laws. Any advice? *remove your yahoo profile and that will reduce the spam, or dont give your email on webisites.
You really can't do much. At least Yahoo and some other servers have software which recognizes spam and takes it out of your in-tray for you. That's what the bulk tray is for...all the junk. *remove your yahoo profile and that will reduce the spam, or dont give your email on webisites.
You really can't do much. At least Yahoo and some other servers have software which recognizes spam and takes it out of your in-tray for you. That's what the bulk tray is for...all the junk. All you can do is just delete it periodically. Or change your email every few weeks which is a pain and not very useful.

Have a used Peg Perego Stroller... anyone know if they offer optional items for sale... cup holders, etc.?
Where can I find them. I bought a Peg Perego Aria stroller used.. think it is about 2004-2005. It has a front bar, but it does not have a cup/snack holder... looks like it snaps right off. I have a stroller that also did not come with a parent tray/cup holder so i went to toys r us and i found a ' jolly jumper stroller caddy' it fits most strollers (fit mine perfectly) and has 2 cup holders and one zip up middle part for keys, snacks, cell phone...they have baby cup/snack holders too it was in the isle with the stroller rain covers and bug nets..
