I posted an item for sale on craigslist and got a response from a buyer. The buyer wants my item, but wants to send a certified draft. He is requesting my name and address to mail the draft to. I thought it sounded funny, but I am not giving out any sensitive info such as bank account, ssn, etc. Could this be legit? I will not release item until funds are verified through bank.I posted an item for sale on craigslist, does this sound fishy?
If he's wanting your name, bank account number and social security number it is a scam. All you need for a cashier's check is the name of the person you are giving it to. Then they can either hand it to you or mail it to you.
